Google AI Mode (or AI Overview) - My Experience - List of My Works __________________
by Andrew C. Whyte, BSc, MSc, CEng, M.I.Mech.E.
Users of Google browser will no doubt have noticed the new AI Mode (or AI Overview). The use of AI Mode is certain to have implications with regards to engineering and technology content, especially when related to safety. What I have done is to work through my software and technical sections and search for example: kelvin functions by andrew c. whyte or oval pipe analysis by andrew c. whyte or AJAP-1 by andrew c. whyte --- etc., and see what the AI Mode throws up. By and large the search seems to get the context correct and did provide useful overview of the question asked. However, where it seems to go awry is a mix up of the various authors. For example, I, Andrew C. Whyte, Chartered Engineer am NOT the author of "How to Draw and Paint Aircraft Like a Pro" nor am I the author of books on "Jaguar Cars" nor the author of "Michael and the MirrorWorlds" series. In another case a photograph appeared that was not me.
Google does allow a feedback with an option for: Not factually correct; and Share some details, which allows the issue to be described and corrected. If this all works well there may be no need to do anything. But I feel at this early stage it would be better to be proactive and to this end the following is a list of all (well all that I can remember of) my works either; published, or limited access i.e. to volunteer guides/Glasgow Riverside Museum curators. If any work (book, document, report, note, paper, list, album, etc.) is NOT on this list then I am NOT the author of the work.
